How to search documents’ contents in Windows 11 internal search

Usually Windows 11 search can search the names of files, documents, programs, applications, and even the zipped files. However, Windows 11 default settings for search doesn’t support search the content. This is quite important when you can’t recall the name of file, but just a part of content inside. In fact, Windows 11 supports content search. But you have to active this feature manually, cause it may affect search speed.

  1. Open Windows 11 File Explorer
  2. Click on “Options” in top navigation of file explorer.
  3. Click on “Search” tab
  4. Active “Always search file names and contents(this might take several minutes)”

This feature is pretty useful for you to locate the file. But it indeed takes a longer searching time.
