How many ways are there to shut down Windows 11 computer?

It’s no secret to shut down the computer. All users with this device know exactly how to shut down the computer, but they may not know that there are many ways to shut down the computer.

The fact that the computer is turned off does not cause any problems or secrets to anyone who owns such components, whether it is a desktop or a laptop.

In fact, we all know that there are two ways to do it, because they always exist. However, you may not know more ways to perform the same operation, even if it is possible to program the precise moment when you must perform such an operation.

In case, for whatever reason, the more traditional closing method does not work, we can always use a different method. There may also be a situation where the usual way at the time did not work for us, if some other way.

We will tell you now.

Shut down Windows 11 from the Start menu
This is the easiest method, and it is also the method that everyone uses to shut down Windows. It is a method without too many secrets, and it is also a method that every Windows user uses every day.

This closure from the graphical interface anchored in the start menu appears in Windows 95 and acts as a lock for all programs and applications that we have in Windows.

The method of use is very simple:

We click on the “Start” menu icon in the taskbar. From there, we select the power button in the bottom left corner. Now click Close in the list of available options.

As you can see, you can click the restart button, this is the restart button. There is also a “sleep” button, which is the previous function, nothing special.

Shut down Windows 11 using the power button
Our computers all have their own physical on/off button, which is the power button of the computer, press it.

Depending on the type of computer we have, pressing this button once may happen that when the PC is turned on, instead of turned off, it will enter sleep mode. This means that if we want to shut down the device completely, we have to press the on/off button continuously until we see that the PC is no longer active.

This type of shutdown is called a forced shutdown. In other words, it does not manage the entire system like Windows does so that it will not be affected when the computer is shut down. When using this system, the sudden shutdown of the computer will cause certain damage to the operating system or hard disk, so it is not recommended to use it frequently.

Windows 11 Advanced User Menu
You can also shut down the computer from the power user menu.

This menu, also known as the energy menu, is where we have some important Windows functions.

So we can close Windows 11 from this menu, we just need to right-click in the start menu icon (Windows drawing) and select close or log out, and then click close.

With this selection, the computer will shut down in the same way we saw in the first option discussed in this article.

Use command prompt to close
We can use the command prompt or the command line to shut down the computer, because you will know that this part of Windows provides us with many interesting options, and this is one of them.

We just need to open the command line, and then in the command line, we just need to write shutdown/sy and press Enter, and then the computer will shut down in a few seconds.

If we want to program the shutdown, we must write shutdown -s -t and the time (in seconds) that we want to elapse before the system shuts down, and finally press Enter. In other words, if we want the computer to stop working within an hour, we should write shutdown -s -t 3600.

Use key combinations
There is a keyboard shortcut that can be used to shut down Windows 11, thereby shutting down our PC.

We just need to press the Control + Alt + Del keys at the same time. This will display a screen where we can select, and at the bottom right, close the option.

This will cause it to close in the same way we did in the Start menu button, so we can say that it closes in the correct way.

These are all the ways we know of shutting down Windows 11. If you know other ways, you can leave a message and let us know.
